What is “IF JUST FOR TODAY” about?
It’s based on my journey in life with all the blessings and tribulations. The best teacher is life’s real experiences and no one needs to go through this alone. It took me many years to appreciate God’s gift to me. If we choose to open one’s self to these wonderful gifts and opportunities that await us. I was blessed to have so many brilliant people in my life to help me along the way during my journey. That’s why I feel a need to share my experiences with others to carry it forward.
I want to thank my parents because I owe them so much for letting me find my own journey. Even though it was a very heavy burden on them they never gave up on me. I was not addicted to drugs or alcohol. However, I was addicted to traumas in my life. For me the 12 step program from AA and Al-Anon was the start. Then the teachings from the Torah later gave me a much healthier perspective. Although I have made slight changes that have worked better for me, I will also include the original AA Twelve Steps.
Life is sometimes not fair or easy, but we can make it better for ourselves if we so choose. For me the above, it is a manual on how to live ones life. It’s based on that if you apply oneself, the rules and steps really work. However you need to do the work consistently so you can better yourself and by that act alone. Others may choose to follow you in becoming a better human beings themselves. Please understand this takes time and effort; in other words “sacrifice”.
If life was easy with no sacrifices no one would appreciate the amazing gifts GOD offers us. However, as all things in life there is a double edge sword, God gives us the freedom to choose which path we want to take. God gave ALL of us free will and many choose the easy path of less resistance. This is natural but, if we truly want a better life we need to work at it. For me I cannot, and do not want to do this alone. For me I want God in my life and I understand I need to work at being a better human being. One needs to appreciate the challenge to have the courage to change, and that takes time and energy. One should want to commit to it.
Life is just like this site a work in progress not a light switch that one just turns on and off but more like a dimmer switch. That over time one gradually gets to see the progress towards perfection which for me is life long journey. I hope you may find some of what I will share with you as helpful to you as it has been for me.
